Master-Planning Federal Workspaces: Eliminating Legacy Waste and Maximizing Efficiency

On-Demand Recording Interagency Briefing Recorded April 17, 2025

Pursuant to Executive Order (EO) 14158 the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and EO 13327 on Federal Real Property Asset Management, this interagency briefing explores practical strategies for right-sizing agency office footprints to optimize federal office space without costly design overhauls. In line with current directives, this session will provide practical steps agencies can take to manage real property efficiently, consolidate where possible, and eliminate wasteful space usage that has been compounded over time.

Facility Programming Session Objectives:

  • Improve space utilization
  • Align workspaces with actual workflows
  • Eliminate inherited inefficiencies
  • Build metric-driven efficiencies

Real-world examples will illustrate how a masterplan - focused on strategy rather than design - can support agency missions while complying with federal real property mandates.

Recommended attending personnel:

SES personnel, facility managers, asset planners, HR, Leasing and Contracting officers and acquisition staff responsible for facility contracts.
